Libbey’s Moderno line of clear glass dinnerware is made of a heat treated, tempered glass construction for added durability and resistance to breaking. Glassware that has been tempered means that it has gone through an additional heating process to strengthen the product. If it does break, it breaks into easily manageable chunks as opposed to shattering into hundreds of hard to clean shards.
